DWPF has been active in the renewable energy marketplace since 2012, having worked with a number of leading investors such as Lightsource, TRIG, John Laing Investments and Glennmont Partners.
We have also worked with developers in the early stages of project formation. Here, we have done everything from sourcing equity, and arranged the on-sale of projects for a development fee, to the structuring of long-term capital in order to create optimal funding strategies.
It is thanks to this vast experience that our financial modelling team can quickly and efficiently develop a business case for your project. They can provide developers with an understanding of a project’s viability and a platform with which to approach investors, as well as assisting with the Contracts for Difference (CfD) auction process.

Onshore and Offshore Wind
Having worked in multiple jurisdictions, including projects in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, DWPF has a wealth of experience in this highly specialised sector.
We identify the cheapest source of finance through the use of funding competitions – which can be particularly complex due to the variety of approaches taken by funders. Creating the right financial model is therefore key as it is used to understand the interplay between the different wind yield assumptions (e.g. P95, P90, P75), power price forecasts (e.g. Poyry low, mid) and cover ratio requirements.
In addition to sourcing and arranging funding, we can add value to your project by performing the detailed quantitative analysis that underpins turbine, PPA and O&M package selection. We can also build operational models to allow you to monitor and report on asset and portfolio performance.
Our experience in the solar marketplace spans continents having worked on projects across both Europe and Africa. This includes providing financial advice on ground mounted schemes, rooftop solar and concentrated PV.
Whatever the size of your project, we can arrange funding either on a short-term basis to assist your development reach scale, or over the longer term to run to the end of, and potentially beyond, government supported regimes.
We can also prepare the financial model to support a project’s business case, assist with PPA selection, and perform the financial analysis required to bid under the UK’s CfD regime.
We can provide expert financial advice on projects across a range of other technologies within the renewables sector.
Our significant experience includes advising clients on the financing of anaerobic digestion facilities – both as part of a public procurement with a guaranteed feedstock and where merchant in nature.
At DWPF, we have also worked with clients to structure long-term finance for the development of biomass facilities, and have a detailed understanding of the fundamental requirements funders have to lend to this sector.
